Amani Brown catches fire from three as Lady Blazers pick up road win over John A. Logan

CARTERVILLE, Ill. – Trailblazer sophomore Amani Brown finished her night with 10 makes from behind the three-point arc including six in the first quarter and eight total in the first half on her way to a career-high 34 points in VU's 110-78 win at John A. Logan.

Brown got the Blazers started early, scoring 18 of VU's 30 first quarter points as Vincennes led by 13 after the first 10 minutes of play.

Freshman Brianna Raynor chipped in in the score column in the second quarter, coming off the bench to score 12 points.

Brown continued to hit from long range on her way to 26 points at the break. Vincennes went into the locker room leading the Lady Volunteers 62-39.

The prolific outside shooting in the first half opened up the paint for Alexis Radcliff, who took advantage in the third quarter as VU extended their lead to 25 points heading into the fourth quarter.

The Trailblazers continued to put the hammer down throughout the game Wednesday night, scoring 28 points in the fourth quarter on their way to the 110-78 road Region 24 win.

Amani Brown led the Lady Blazers with 34 points on 10 of 15 shooting from three-point range and also added two rebounds and two assists.

Brianna Raynor finished with a career-high 22 points off the bench, including hitting four of five from behind the arc to go along with eight rebounds.

Sophomore guard Reeva Hammelman found the open shooters all night passing the ball on her way to a double-double with 10 points and 11 assists. Hammelman also grabbed five rebounds.

Alexis Radcliff was the fourth Trailblazer to score in double figures, finishing with 14 points and seven rebounds.

Nina Blade returned to the starting lineup Wednesday and nearly completed a double-double of her own, finishing with nine points and 10 rebounds.

Vincennes looks to carry this momentum heading into their next game in a rematch with Shawnee Saturday, March 20. The Trailblazers defeated the Saints 67-60 in the P.E. Complex Monday night. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. eastern.
