Ina, Illinois -- Indian Hills was held to just seven hits -- one in the first game -- and lost both ends of a doubleheader to Rend Lake CC on Tuesday, dropping 3-0 and 5-4 decisions.

Garrett Takamatsu's single was the only offense the Falcons could muster in the opener.  Rend Lake pushed across two runs in the 1st and one more in the 2nd against IHCC starter Nick Marshall, who absorbed the loss.  Matthew Vasquez and Malik Abdul pitched in relief after Marshall worked four innings.

Rend Lake took the nightcap with an unearned run in the 7th after Indian Hills tied the score with three runs in the top of the inning.  Four different Falcons scored runs: Declan Buckle, Takamatsu, Nathan Chasey and Brady Nowicki.  The RBIs came from the top three batters in the lineup:  Buckle, Jet Weber and Takamatsu.  Muroi got his first start and pitched the first two innings.  Connor Robins made his IHCC debut and went 2 1/3 innings, followed to the mound by Jordan Bahnuk and Omar Vigil, who was tagged with the loss.

The Falcons are now 7-10 and will open the home schedule against Iowa Central on Thursday.
