The Lakers (1-13) traveled to Joliet, IL this weekend to compete in the Joliet Tournament. The Lakers picked up their first win of the year defeating Division I Shawnee Community College 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-23).

The Lakers followed in the afternoon, losing to Joliet JC 0-3; (14-25, 13-25 & 15-25)

Coach Mike Turnbull said, "In the first match we dug a 7-1 hole before storming back to take the first set and rolled to a 3-0 well deserved and needed win. In the second match we did not duplicate the intensity and consistency we showed in the first match and Joliet took advantage and swept us out."

The Lakers return home to Estherville to play an all important ICCAC match vs Southwestern at 7:00pm.
