First win in Triton tourney

The Cyclones earned their first win of the season after going 1-1 at the Triton College Tournament Nov. 8-9.

Their first game was a solid 74-52 victory over Concordia University JV. The first quarter was tight with the Cyclones holding a narrow 19-17 lead thanks to Erin Greenfield's 12 points. It was really the 21-9 second quarter, and eight points from Kirsten Kamholz, that forged the first comfortable halftime lead of the season. Moraine Valley methodically built a 20-point lead throughout the second half for their first win. Greenfield led with 22 points and nine rebounds. Kamholz added 16 points with a season high 17 rebounds and three steals. Nicole Poole chipped in nine points.

The next day after getting a slow start, the Cyclones mustered just 13 points in the first half against a talented Lake Land College. Moraine Valley found more offense in the second half, but still lost the matchup 85-42. Scoring was rough overall as the Cyclones went 16-for-63 from the floor. Kamholz led with 14 points and a game high nine rebounds.
