Lincoln Trail Softball Dominates Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic in Myrtle Beach, SC

The Lincoln Trail Softball team showcased their exceptional skills and prowess at the prestigious Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic held in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina from March 4th to March 8th, 2024. The team had a stellar performance throughout the tournament.

The opening day of the tournament saw Lincoln Trail Softball coming out strong against Bay College with a commanding 7-1 victory. Notable runs were made by Stormy Kinnard, Kaitlyn Boerngen, Nicole Mathews, and Delainey Shorter, with pitchers Kendal Edmondson and Kyndal Brewer delivering a stellar performance on the mound. Continuing their winning streak, Lincoln Trail secured another impressive win on Day 1 against Marian University Ancilla with a score of 10-0 in just 6 innings. Stormy Kinnard, Bailey Duke, Gracie Stallings, Nicole Mathews, Katy Crail, and Delainey Shorter contributed to the team's success, with batters from Marian University Ancilla facing pitchers Kyndal Brewer and Addie Brasier.

Day 2 presented some tough competition for Lincoln Trail as they faced Harford, resulting in a narrow 5-6 loss. However, the team quickly bounced back in their second game of the day, defeating Glen Oaks 3-2 with performances from Stormy Kinnard, Delainey Shorter, and pitchers Kyndal Brewer and Addie Brasier.

Unfortunately, Day 3 was rained out, but the team returned on Day 4 with renewed determination, securing two decisive victories. Lincoln Trail dominated Delta College with a resounding 10-0 win, followed by a 10-3 triumph over Schoolcraft. The team's offensive prowess was on full display with contributions from various players, including Stormy Kinnard, Delainey Shorter, Katy Crail, and Nicole Mathews, backed by solid pitching performances from Kyndal Brewer, Kendal Edmondson, and Addie Brasier.

On the final day of the tournament, Lincoln Trail delivered two more impressive victories to cap off their outstanding performance. They defeated USC Sumter with a commanding 14-1 win, followed by a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Kankakee.

With a final record of 7-1, Lincoln Trail Softball leaves Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with their heads held high. Their next game is against John A. Logan at 2pm Macrh 11th at Robinson City Park.
