Co-Lin drives in 12 runs in win over Kaskaskia College

WESSON, Miss. – The bats were hot for Co-Lin on Monday as the Wolves racked 13 hits in a 12-8 win over Kaskaskia College in a round robin tournament at Sullivan Field.  

Co-Lin plated two runs in the bottom of the first inning to take a lead after an error scored Chandler Dillard and a single from Austin Tidwell pushed across Hayden White.

The Blue Devils of Kaskaskia took the lead after they scored three in the top of the second. The runs came on two sac flies and a walk.

The Wolves big inning came in the bottom of the third. Austin O'Flynn scored Jaylyn Williams with a single, Craig Bradley doubled to center field and scored O'Flynn, a single from Dillard plated Bradley, and Williams drew a walk with the bases load to score Dillard. The six run inning gave the Wolves an 8-3 lead.

The Wolves stretched the lead to 12-3 in the bottom of the fourth with another very productive inning. Bradley ripped a RBI double that scored O'Flynn, and Bradley reached home later after a Kaskaskia error. A sac fly from Williams and a RBI single from Ryan Zimmerman scored two more for the Wolves.

A three-run homer from Kaskaskia in the fifth, and two more runs in the sixth brought the Blue Devils within four, but the Wolves held on to the lead.

Zach James earned the victory for the Wolves as he surrendered three runs on five hits over two innings, walking zero. Parker Lee and Zach Smith entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Brenden Boles took the loss for Kaskakia. He went two and a third innings, allowing seven runs on six hits and striking out one.

Anthony Clapp started the game for Co-Lin, and went three innings, allowing three runs on four hits and striking out three.

Co-Lin was led by Tidwell, Zimmerman, O'Flynn, Dillard, and Bradley who each had multiple hits for the Wolves.

Kaskakia collected 12 hits. Hunter Lodge, Julio Canales, and Steven Davila each managed multiple hits for the Blue Devils.
