WVC sweeps Southeastern

The Wabash Valley College Lady Warriors softball team 
did it again taking two from Southeastern Illinois at Paul Schnarre 
Field on Thursday afternoon. Both game were a struggle but WVC won the first game by scoring six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning winning 9 to 3. Bailey Winters would get the win and is now 15-4. With the game tied going into the bottom of the sixth the Lady Warriors would get home runs by Mallory Rutz a solo shot, Keagan Helson a two run homer and to help herself out Winters would hit a three run homer.

It took the Lady Warriors 10 innings to win the second game. Leading 2 to 0 going into the top of the 6th SIC would come up with two runs to tie the game. In the bottom of the 10th with one out MacKenzie McGregor would hit a solo homer over the center field fence for the win. Kaitlin Kralj would pitch all 10 innings and pick up the win and is now 12-3 on the season.

WVC is now 32-9 and 19-3 in the GRAC while SIC is 16-15 and 8-12 in the conference.

WVC got some help from Rend Lake Thursday as they split with Lake Land winning the first game 7 to 2 and then falling 8-0.

The Lady Warriors will be at home Saturday against Southwestern with the first game starting at noon. Then Sunday in a make up game they will take on Olney Central and first game will begin at 1 pm. Then Tuesday they will host Shawnee College first game starts at 2 pm. The Shawnee double header is the last regular season games at home.
