BELLEVILLE - Four players hit for double figures Saturday as the John A. Logan College women's basketball team cruised past host Southwestern Illinois, 89-70, to remain unbeaten on the season.

The Lady Vols move to 2-0 in the Great Rivers Athletic Conference and Region 24, while improving to 7-0 overall. The Blue Storm falls to 0-2 in the league and 3-3 overall.

Freshman forward Kaili Bacon continued her scoring assault for Logan, knocking down a career-high 27 points.  The Carbondale product was 12-of-23 from the field, including one 3-pointer, and 2-of-5 from the free-throw line.

"Kaili's been our go-to player the last three or four games," said JALC head coach Amanda Shelby. "She brought a lot of energy to the floor on a day when I didn't think we played with a high level of energy overall."

Tiaunna Watkins followed with 23 points. McKena Miller and Ariel Crump added 13 each. Haley Darnell netted six.

The Vols jumped out to a 26-15 lead at the end of one quarter and never looked back with a 47-31 halftime advantage, and 72-57 lead after three.

"We keep finding ways to win," Shelby said. "We can't let up, though. We still have one more game to go before the Thanksgiving break. We have to come ready to play Tuesday."

Logan is set to play a rare weekday matinee with Tuesday's game against Southeastern Illinois set for 1 p.m.
